MICAT 2026 is the entrance exam conducted by the Mudra Institute of Communication in Ahmedabad (MICA) for admission to its flagship PGDM and PGDM-Communications (PGDM-C) programs. The exam is held twice a year—MICAT-I (December) and MICAT-II (January/February)—and candidates can appear in either or both; the better score is considered for selection. MICA will begin the registration process for the first exam phase in September and the second exam phase in November, in accordance with the anticipated dates of the MICAT exam. The MICAT 2026 application form can be completed by candidates on the official website, mica.ac.in.

MICAT is a computer-based test with a duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes, comprising three sections: the Psychometric Test, Descriptive Test, and Aptitude Test (which includes Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, General Awareness, and Divergent & Convergent Thinking).

The candidate's overall performance in the CAT/XAT/GMAT, MICAT exam, GE-PI, academic performance, and other factors determines the final MICAT exam 2025–2026 outcomes. • In order to be admitted to MICA's PGDM-C and PGDM programs, MICAT is required.
  • MICA administers the MICAT exam twice annually. The option to participate in both MICAT phases is available to candidates.
  • MICA will determine merit by taking the best of both scores into account.
  • For MICAT eligibility, candidates must have a valid CAT, XAT, or GMAT score.
  • Psychometric, descriptive, and aptitude tests (with four sub-sections) will all be part of the MICAT exam.

Other Key Points

There is no declared overall cut-off for the total MICAT score; only sectional cut-offs are relied on for shortlisting.

You must also have a valid CAT, XAT (often 80th percentile and above), or GMAT score for eligibility.

Only candidates who clear all sectional cut-offs and the qualifying psychometric will be called for GE-PI, where further cut-offs apply.

After the merit list is released, the MICAT 2026 admissions procedure will be handled offline.  Depending on their merit, shortlisted candidates will be invited to the Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

Students that are chosen must show up for the GE and PI rounds, which will take place in several places.  The results of the CAT/XAT or GMAT exam, the psychometric test, and the GE and PI rounds will be used to judge the final selection.  Within the allotted period, applicants should confirm their places by paying the necessary entrance fee.
