IBSAT 2026 (ICFAI Business School Admission Test) is a national PG–level entrance exam which is conducted annually by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education. This exam is for getting admission to MBA and PGPM programs at ICFAI Business School (IBS) campuses pan India. These include IBS Hyderabad, IBS Mumbai, IBS Bangalore, IBS Pune, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Jaipur, and IBS Dehradun. IBSAT in general, serves as a gateway for students aspiring to pursue a management degree at one of these prestigious institutions known for their strong academic foundations, case-based learning, and excellent placement records.

The aim of the IBSAT exam is to assess a candidate’s aptitude skills and readiness for management education. It tests key skills such as quantitative ability, data interpretation, data adequacy, vocabulary, analytical reasoning, and reading comprehension, all of which are essential to be successful in a rigorous MBA or PGPM program. The IBSAT exam usually follows a computer – based format with a total of 140 multiple-choice questions which are to be completed in 2 hours’ duration. The question paper is divided into four sections – Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, and Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation.

   IBSAT 2026 - Online Registration   

IBSAT is conducted by The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education which has been declared as a Deemed-to-be-University under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. This exam is for those aspirants who are seeking admission to the following programs listed below.

  • 2-year full-time MBA program at IBS Hyderabad, IBS Dehradun, IBS Jaipur, and off-campus of IBS Hyderabad at Bangalore.
  • 4-year Ph. D program (Full Time/Part-Time) at IBS Hyderabad
  • 2-year full-time PGPM (Postgraduate Program in Management) at 5 IBS campuses - Ahmedabad, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.

IBSAT 2026 Notification

IBSAT 2026 online application submissions will start on 1st July 2025. The last date for the submission of online applications is 3rd week December 2025. IBSAT Exam will be conducted on 28th – 29th December 2025.

IBSAT 2026 Application Form

  1. The application process conducted by the institute is done through both online and offline mode.
  2. For online mode, interested candidates are required to visit the official IBSAT website to begin with the application process. For offline mode, candidates can visit the IBS marketing offices or their respective offline centres.
  3. Candidates (in both online or offline mode) are required to fill in the application form with accurate details of information regarding personal and academic details.
  4. Once the application form is filled correctly, candidates will be required to pay an amount of INR 1800 as the application fee.
  5. Candidates can pay the said application fee in both online and offline mode. In online mode, candidates will be taken to various payment gateways (Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Internet Banking).
  6. In offline mode, candidates need to pay the application fee (INR 1800) first before filling out the application form.
  7. Candidates are required to keep a print/Xerox of the application form for their future references.
  8. Candidates are required to select the exam slot on the given dates by using the login credentials (application number and registered password).

IBSAT 2026 Application Process

Requirements:

  1. Candidates must have a valid email id and phone number for ease of communication.
  2. Candidates will be required to provide their personal and academic details.
  3. Candidates will have to provide with a recent photograph (Size: <25KB and 140 – 160 Pixels).

Steps to Apply for IBAST 2026:

  • Online Mode:

    • Candidates need to visit the official application website portal.
    • Candidates are then required to fill in their personal and contact details before submitting the application form.
    • Candidates are further required to pay the application fee of INR 1800/-
    • After successful payment of the application form, candidates will receive login credentials through email/SMS.
    • In a week's time IBSAT 2026 official brochure will be dispatched to the applicant's address.

    Offline Mode:

    • Candidates are required to visit the nearest IBS Information office to collect the form.
    • Candidates are required to fill in their personal and contact details before submission of the form.
    • Once the form is submitted, candidates will then have to pay the application fee of INR 1800/-
    • Login credentials and the IBSAT 2026 official brochure will be provided at the time of application.

IBSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

2 year Management Program (MBA/PGPM):

  • Candidates should be graduated (under any discipline) with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above marks, with English as the medium of instruction.
  • Applicants must have completed minimum 15 years of education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis).
  • Candidates not meeting the English medium criterion must submit TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS scores by 31st May 2026.
  • Final-year students are eligible to apply, provided they complete all graduation requirements (including practical exams, viva, assignments) before 31st May 2026. Admission will remain provisional until they submit required academic proof. Last date for submission of graduation documents: 1st November 2026.
  • Eligibility verification will begin from August 2026. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they meet all criteria.

IBSAT 2025 Exam Pattern

  1. The exam will consist of 140 questions which will be MCQ (Multiple-Choice-Questions) based.
  2. The difficulty level of exam will be from easy to moderate.
  3. The exam will consist of four sections – verbal ability, reading comprehension, quantitative aptitude, and data adequacy and interpretation.
  4. The duration for the test will be of 2 hours (120 minutes).
  5. There will be no negative marking.
  6. There will be no sectional time limits.
  7. Syllabus is broadly aligned with other national-level management entrance exams.
  8. The medium of language will be in English only.

IBSAT 2026 Admit Card

  1. Candidates will be provided with admit cards at the time of slot booking of the IBSAT 2026 exam.
  2. Admit card is mandatory hence without this document no candidate will be allowed to appear for the exam.
  3. Candidates will be able to download their hall tickets/admit cards from the official website by providing their official login ID and password.

IBSAT 2026 Syllabus

The IBSAT 2026 syllabus has been designed to assess a candidate’s aptitude for management studies and is divided into four main sections.

  • Verbal Ability: This portion will assess English language skills such as grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, idioms, one-word substitutions, and para jumbles. This section tests a candidate’s command over English usage and sentence structure.
  • Reading Comprehension: This portion will evaluate a candidate’s ability to understand and interpret written passages. Questions are based on 2–4 passages that will focus on identifying main ideas, details, inferences, and contextual meanings.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: This portion will test mathematical and problem-solving skills through topics like arithmetic, algebra, geometry, percentages, time and work, profit and loss, and data sufficiency. The questions range will be from easy to moderate difficulty.
  • Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation: This portion will measure the ability to analyze and interpret data presented in tables, graphs, charts, and diagrams, as well as assess data sufficiency and logical reasoning through various scenarios.

There will be 500 scholarships of INR 2 lakh each are planned for the Class of 2028. The amount will be adjusted—INR 1 lakh each—against the first and second term program fee instalments.

Candidates must appear and qualify in IBSAT 2025 (on December 27 or 28, 2025) as the admission formalities, including fee payment and registration, must be completed on time.

Scholarship amount will be adjusted against the program fee only. If a student withdraws, the scholarship amount will be deducted before any applicable fee refund.

IBSAT 2026 Results

IBSAT 2026 results will be announced by ICFAI Business School in the first week of January 2026, i.e. shortly after the IBSAT 2026 exam is conducted in the last week of December 2025.

IBSAT 2026 Selection Process

  • Candidates shortlisted based on their scores in IBSAT 2025, or through CAT, NMAT by GMAC™, XAT, or GMAT™ (from 2023 onwards), will be invited for the selection process starting in the second week of February, 2026.
  • The selection process includes two components: Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.
  • Micro Presentation: In this part of the process, a candidate will be assessed on their ability to think, organize their thoughts, and communicate effectively. Candidates will be given 1 minute to prepare and 3 minutes to speak on a general topic assigned to them randomly.
  • Personal Interview: The interview lasts about 5 to 7 minutes and is conducted by a panel that evaluates the candidate’s attitude, clarity of thought, communication skills, awareness of current affairs, and overall readiness for a career in management.
  • Admission decision: Final selection is based on past academic performance, along with performance in the Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.

 

IBSAT 2026 Instructions

  1. Candidates should upload their photograph in the portal which is clearly visible.
  2. Candidates need to carry the admit card/hall ticket to the exam centre. Candidates will be prohibited from entering the exam hall without this document.
  3. Candidates will also be required to carry a valid ID proof such as – Voter ID Card/ Aadhaar Card/ PAN Card/ Driving License, etc.
  4. It is advisable for all candidates to enter the designated exam hall before time for a smooth security process before the beginning of exam.
  5. Any candidate violating the rules will be strictly dealt as per the norms of the exam centre.
  6. Any candidate pursuing any unfair means in the exam hall will be dealt with as per the rules and regulations of the test centre.
