The ICFAI Foundation prescribes the exam pattern of IBSAT 2025 for admission to various MBA and PGPM programmes. The aspirants should know about the IBSAT 2025 exam pattern before applying or appearing for the test. Knowing the IBSAT exam pattern 2025 will help applicants know more about the type of questions, marking scheme, duration, total number of questions, etc. The IBSAT exam will begin in December 2025. It is a computer-based test of 120 minutes duration carrying multiple-choice questions (MCQs). IBSAT 2025 Exam Structure and Pattern:

Testing Mode: Online (remote proctored computer-based test) from home.

Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes).

Total Questions: 140 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

Sections: The exam is divided into four sections listed below.

  • Verbal Ability (VA)
  • Reading Comprehension (RC)
  • Quantitative Ability (QA)
  • Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation (DA/DI).

Section-wise Question Distribution:

  • Verbal Ability: 50 questions
  • Reading Comprehension: 30 questions
  • Quantitative Ability: 30 questions

  • Each correct answer: +1 mark

Section Breakdown and Syllabus Overview:

  1. Verbal Ability (VA) – 50 Questions:
  • Grammar, synonyms/antonyms, sentence completion, analogies, contextual usage, para jumbles, idioms, and vocabulary.
  • This is considered the highest weightage section and tests proficiency in English language skills.
  1. Reading Comprehension (RC) – 30 Questions:
  • Usually 2-4 passages with 6-8 questions per passage.
  • Questions test the candidate's ability to comprehend written content, draw inferences, and analyze information from the passages.
  1. Quantitative Ability (QA) – 30 Questions:
  • Covers arithmetic, algebra, percentages, speed & distance, profit & loss, geometry, mensuration, averages, probability, progressions, and number systems.
  • Questions test mathematical problem-solving skills, generally at a moderate difficulty level.
  1. Data Adequacy & Data Interpretation (DA/DI) – 30 Questions:
  • Data sufficiency, bar graphs, pie charts, Venn diagrams, tables, logical reasoning, matrix arrangements, and series.
  • Evaluates analytical ability and critical reasoning to interpret and make decisions based on data.
