Job Description:
1. The ideal candidate demonstrates a system-level focus while understanding the impact of every component.
2. Broad knowledge of and exposure to network protocols as well as embedded and real-time operating systems are essential for success in this role. 
3. Participate on a project team of engineers involved in development of software for Cisco products. 
4. Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities: Design applications involving multi-platforms. 
5. Design and develop new software product features. 
6. Define product internal/external interfaces. 
7. Develop medium-complex, multiple modules of code independently. 
8. Write complete functional and design specs independently. 

Candidate Profile:
1. BE / B Tech with 2+ yrs related experience. 
In addition, the candidate must possess the following 
skills. 
1. Ability to program in 'C' is a must. 
2. Ability to program in assembly is preferable. 
3. A good understanding of IOS/RTOS. 
4. Good troubleshooting/debugging skills. 
5. Low level system knowledge including drivers of LAN/WAN networking devices. 
6. Exposure to networking protocols (preferably CarrierEthernet, MPLS, IP etc) 
7. Exposure in embedded systems and real-time operating systems or Hand-on experience is writing device drivers; BIOS and firmware is added advantage 
8. Hands on experience with one or more of the LAN/WAN technologies, mobile back haul or optical networking protocols.
