Overall purpose of role

  1. Support the design, build, test, and deliver of Java solutions to key internal / external (e.g. Financial Services Authority, or external auditors) stakeholders, and customers.
  2. Provide support across different projects simultaneously
  3. Detailed analysis of BUK requirements and solutions to ensure effectiveness, relevance, accuracy and robust controls are implemented. 

 

Key Accountabilities

  1. Support the analysis, design, build, test and delivery of Java solutions as required
  2. Manage/ escalate risks and issues through to resolution. Implement solutions to prevent repetition of known issues/ risks and share knowledge of lessons learned.
  3. Conduct testing to ensure successful deployment/ implementation of all developments or new applications.

Person Specification

  1. Strong Hands on experience working on Java applications development using spring-core and spring-mv framework
  2. String Core Java skills
  3. Must have prior experience in  REST/SOAP webservices
  4. Strong understanding WAS, JBoss and Tomcat servers
  5. Experience developing using ORM tools like Hibernate
  6. Experience in handling Collections, JDBC, Multi-threading
  7. Experience in developing web services using JAX-WS,JAX-RS,JAX-B and  Java web-frameworks
  8. Experience in handling session management with cookies disabled, error handling and Database threading, using load balancers and single-sign-on like webseal integration
  9. Knowledge on HTML,CSS and Javascript
  10. Experience using development tools RAD, ANT and Maven
  11. Experience using JUnit for unit test
  12. SQl query writing using Teradata and Oracle would be added advantage
  13. Working on a number of tasks on a variety of different projects at the same time.
  14.  Proven ability to build effective internal relationships
  15.  Awareness of innovative management information tools and systems
  16. Governance and compliance policies, standards, and procedures required to fulfil role e.g. data security, records management.
  17. Strong analytical skills including ability to provide observations and comment
  18. Wider-thinking and problem solving ? identifying and delivering reporting through own initiative.
  19. Understanding of change management process.
  20. Certification from relevant technology provider (preferable)
