About SACON:
The Salim Ali Center for Ornithology and Natural History (SACON) appeared in 1990, toward the start of the decade that set the twin issues of preservation of biodiversity and its manageable use in the plan for worldwide activity. The extravagance of India's biodiversity and its quick disintegration in the most recent couple of decades need no telling. Most biological communities have been debased, divided and drained to a degree that their preservation requires extraordinary and educated administration.
Dr. Salim Ali in the most recent years of his life was more persuaded than any time in recent memory that protection in India would be worthless activity unless it additionally presented advantages to the general population who bear the expenses of preservation. In the 1980s, his endeavors were on building up an Institution, which would take up the testing undertaking of creating aptitude and learning in preservation. This shockingly did not appear amid his lifetime.
