The Department of Factories and Boilers, under the Ministry of Labor is taking care of security, wellbeing and welfare of specialists utilized in processing plants. Secretary to Labor is having the authoritative control over the Department. The Director of Factories and Boilers is the Head of the Department. The primary capacity of the Factories and Boilers Department is to direct/actualize different arrangements in the Factories Act 1948, the Indian Boilers Act 1923 and different authorizations for guaranteeing Safety, Health and Welfare of the assembly line laborers and wellbeing of the neighboring open. The departmental capacities are administrative and also benefit arranged. The division is embracing a two-level framework viz. Administrative and admonitory to make it an assessment administration division. The Director of Factories and Boilers is helped by requirement wing comprising of a Joint Director of Factories and Boilers (HQ) and 3 Regional Joint Directors of Factories and Boilers. There are 20 manufacturing plant divisions each headed by the Inspector of Factories and Boilers in admiration of Factories under Section 2(m), dangerous industrial facilities going under area 85 of the Factories Act, 1948 and 23 Additional Inspectors of Factories responsible for non risky Factories advised under segment 85 of Factories Act 1948.
