Delhi Police has released a notification for the recruitment of 649 Head Constables. Interested candidates may check the vacancy details and apply online from 28-12-2019 to 27-01-2020.


649 Head Constable posts
Minimum 18 years and Maximum 27 years
Candidates should have passed 10+2 with Science and Mathematics as subjects from a recognised board.
Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of Written Examination/Interview.
Interested and eligible candidates may apply online through Delhi Police website - http://delhipolice.nic.in/ - from 28-12-2019 to 27-01-2020.

General/UR/OBC candidates have to pay Rs. 100 through online mode using Net-banking/Credit or Debit Card. SC/ST/Female candidates don't have to pay any fee.

About Delhi Police recruitment :


The Delhi Police (DP) is the law enforcement agency for the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT). In 2015, sanctioned strength of DP was 84,536 (including I.R. Battalions) para7.69 making it one of the largest metropolitan police forces in the world.  About 25% of Delhi Police strength is earmarked for VVIP security.  Delhi Police comes under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India not the Government of Delhi.  7.5 The headquarters are located at Indraprashta Estate, New Delhi.


Current Organisation:


As of January 2019, Delhi Police has 15 Police Districts with 178 'territorial' Police Stations and 5 specialised crime units declared as Police Stations namely, Economic Offenses Wing, Crime Branch, Special Cell, Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) and Vigilance.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Controlling criminal activities
  • Protection of citizens
  • Control traffic problem
  • Delhi Police is considered to be having the most advanced administrative system in India. It believes in the principle of 'Citizen First'. Traffic control is very important in order to avoid accidents and Delhi police has taken several measures to control the traffic.
