About Chhattisgarh Postal Circle:

Chhattisgarh carved out from Madhya Pradesh gained its statehood on November 1st,2000 with Raipur as its Capital. It is the 10th largest state of India by area of 52,199 sq.mi. 

The common explanation regarding the origins of the name Chhattisgarh is that it denotes the number of forts in the region, which are supposed to be thirty six in number, though the listing of these 36 forts has always remained a point of dispute. 

Chhattisgarh Postal Circle was formed on November 12,2001. It has a vast network of 3122 Post Offices out of which 223 are serving in urban areas and 2899 are serving in rural areas of the state. The Chief Postmaster General manages CHHATTISGARH POST with Headquarters at Raipur , the State Capital.
