The Bihar State Milk Co-Operative Federation Ltd. (COMFED)was built up in 1983 as the actualizing organization of Operational Flood (OF) program of dairy advancement on "Anand" design in Bihar. Every one of the operations of past Bihar State Dairy Corporation were given over to COMFED. Till the end OF program in March 1997, there were five area level Milk Producers' Cooperative Unions covering eighteen regions of Bihar. The dairy improvement work proceeded and at present there are eight region level drain unions covering thirty three regions of Bihar. Comfed builds up the regions first as far as dairy advancement combined with limit improvement of drain makers to bear more extensive obligations and afterward hands over the whole operations to the delegates fairly chose by the drain makers.
