About Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Ltd:
Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited (BHAVINI) is a Government Company under the authoritative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) consolidated on 22nd October 2003 as Public Limited Company under the Companies Act, 1956 with the target of building and dispatching the initial 500 MWe Fast Breeder Reactor (FBR) at Kalpakkam in Tamilnadu and to seek after development, appointing, operation and upkeep of ensuing Fast Breeder Reactors for era of power in compatibility of the plans and projects of Government of India under the arrangements of the Atomic Energy Act,1962. BHAVINI is right now developing a 500MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) at Kalpakkam, 70 Kms far from Chennai. The PFBR is the herald without bounds Fast Breeder Reactors and is relied upon to give vitality security to the nation. The PFBR is being worked with the plan and innovation created at the Indira Gandhi Center for Atomic Research (IGCAR) situated at Kalpakkam.
